Computer Class – Night

A few fun things planned for today. Firstly we’re going to be sending Christmas greeting cards to our nearest and dearest….and yes i do realise we are still in November, but sometimes its good to be the first in.

The website we are sending our cards from is www.123greetings.com. Although there are many greeting cards site on the net, this one is very quick and easy to use. You can also send up to 100 cards at a time.

(another great site for greeting cards is www.jibjab.com)

Next, we are going to get to grips with Microsoft Publisher 2007

What is MS publisher?

Microsoft Publisher, is a desktop publishing application from Microsoft. It is an entry-level application, differing fromMicrosoft Word in that the emphasis is placed on page layout and design rather than text composition and proofing. You can create a varity of printed documents such as flyers and business cards within one program. Its also really helpful to be familiar with publisher becuase its controls mimic an abundance of MS programs, so the skills and the knowledge is transferable.

The Task:

Link-Up would like to send all our visiting Christmas greeting cards..Although we will be sending traditional printed cards, its not practical for us to send them to everyone without bankrupting ourselves in the process.

Your job is to design our greeting that we will be sending out.

Here are a list of things that must be included.

  • Who it is from – Longhill Link-Up Trust
  • A Christmas greeting
  • A picture of the staff
  • A picture of the building
  • Our contact details: Telephone 01482 707680 / E-mail enquiries@linkuptrust.org

….And anything you want to include to make it special.
